Deanna, born to Primo and Ricarda Bertola, took her first breath on January 10, 1943 . Deanna was independant and social from the get go. She had fond memories of growing up around family, from her to Tia Cholita to her Grandmother Angelina. Deanna graduated from Palmdale High in 1960. She pursued and was awarded a degree in psychology and went on to get her teaching credentials.
While Deanna never married, she gave her time to her classroom as a teacher, her coworkers as a friend, her nieces and nephews as "Auntie Dee" and to her dog Harry. Her nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, close circle of friends and former students meant a great deal to her.
When Deanna retired, she devoted most of her time to the beautiful views of Seattle working on her favorite hobby, stamping. She was an active member of the Stampin' Up community where she met several friends and was able to channel all her creativity. We will miss her dearly. There is a viewing for Deanna on December 13th at Eternal Valley in Santa Clarita from 5-9pm. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Clares Catholic Church in Canyon Country at 1pm. The burial will be at Eternal Valley at 2:30 followed by a reception on the premises.
