Dan was born in Granada Hills to parents Dan and Rozanne Douglass on May 7, 1972. They moved to Saugus and Dan was an energetic and happy little boy. He loved racing BMX bikes with his younger brother Sean, skateboarding, and baseball. At age 14, he traveled across the states with his baseball team and won the Little League World Series. Later he used those athletic abilities to play for the golf team at Saugus High School.
In 1994, he met his future wife, Kirsten. They enjoyed camping, fishing, riding motorcycles in the desert and hanging out with friends. Dan had a huge heart; he loved people and his pets. Often, he was spotted driving around town with his dogs in tow. It was not uncommon for him to be referred to as a giant teddy bear.
Dan and Kirsten married on June 3, 2001, and welcomed their daughter, Katherine on April 16, 2009. Kate was Dan’s pride and joy. He adored her and loved spending hours building Legos, setting up elaborate slot car tracks and cheering her on the soccer field. Hot rods, tinkering on engines, and building just about anything Kirsten asked for, was something Dan enjoyed.
In a short time, Dan lived a full life and had an enormous personality. He will be missed by many. Later this year, the family will honor him with a celebration of life.
