Bill Elrod Sr.

Bill “Papa”, passed away on March 24, 2015, at the family home, in Palmdale, CA his wife and sons by his side. He will greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Born in Sioux Falls, SD on August 29, 1942, he was the oldest of William and Marilyn Elrod.

He served in the Marine Corps, where he found his passion for aerospace and dedicated his life to building America’s greatest aircrafts. He proudly retired from Lockheed-Martin and Northrop Grumman with just under 50 years of service. While working at McDonald Douglas in Long Beach, CA, Bill met the love of his life, Terrie, and they were married on August 9, 1969. They were blessed with two wonderful sons, William Dean Elrod, Jr. (Stephanie) and Robert Harrison Elrod; as well as two amazing grandsons, Mike and Spencer Elrod, who made Grandpa so very proud.
