Betty H. Spencer, 85 years old, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024 in her home in Santa Clarita Valley, Ca., surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 26, 1938 in Huacho, Peru to Manuel C. Bisso and Ethelvina Jaime. In her 20s, Betty moved from Peru to New York City and met her husband Pablo Spencer. They married and started their family in New York, and later to New Jersey, before moving to their final destination of Canyon Country, California.
Betty worked most of her adult life as a teacher’s aide taking care of young children. She attended College of the Canyons and in June 1986, she received an Associate in Science in Electronic Technology. She was a survivor of breast cancer. She donated to the American Cancer Society and was devoted to participating in the SCV Relay for Life each year. Betty enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, sewing and cooking. In the later years, it was spending time with her grandsons that brought her the most joy.
Throughout her life, Betty touched the hearts of many with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, loyal friend, and a pillar of strength for all who knew her.
Betty is survived by her son Erick Spencer, daughter Karen Navarro and grandsons Nicolas Navarro and Marcos Navarro. She was preceded in death by and reunited with her husband Pablo R. Spencer. Betty also leaves behind two sisters, Ada Llano and Violeta Bisso.
Funeral Services in Betty’s memory will be held on May 20, 2024. Please join us at St.Clare Church in Canyon Country for a Rosary prayer at 12:30pm and Mass Service at 1pm. We will then head over to Eternal Valley Memorial Park and Mortuary in Newhall for gravesite service, with a reception following from 3-5pm. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring her memory and sharing stories of her remarkable life.
Betty will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. Her love will continue to guide and inspire us all.
