

Anna May was born in Orange, N.J. where she lived with her parents, (George and Anna Leeman) and her seven siblings. Anna May graduated from New Jersey State Teachers College in Montclair with a BA in history, business, English and secondary school education. She was a strong and ambitious woman. Of her many accomplishments, Anna May won the “Who” award twice and was a member of the Eta Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a group for women in education.
Anna May married Wallace Arthur Robinson on June 21, 1952. They met on the boardwalk, each walking with friends. When Anna May told the story of how they met, she said they had eyes for each other, and that was that. Together, they raised ten children.
Anna May began her teaching career in Bakersfield California and ended with 25 years of teaching in the William S. Hart school district in Santa Clarita, California. Anna May was a substitute teacher for years while still raising her young children and then taught at Placerita Jr. High and Sierra Vista Jr. High.
Faith played a tremendous role in the life of Anna May. Her unwavering dedication to her church and religious values stayed with her throughout her life. Anna May was a parishioner, teacher and lector at St. Clare of Assisi Church in Canyon Country.
Anna May dreamt of seeing the world, and she made her dreams come true. She traveled to Europe, China and Canada. She also journeyed across the United States several times and created scrapbooks that documented her adventures.
Anna May was also the Dodger’s number one fan, and she never missed a game. Her 94th birthday party was even Dodgers-themed. Everyone in attendance proudly wore Dodgers gear or Dodgers blue.
Anna May made sure to expose her children to many forms of music. She played piano and sang. Her home was filled with kindness and warmth. Anna May’s love for children stayed with her forever, as she attended elementary school plays, football games, and a plethora of birthday parties. Her family described her as a selfless and giving person, who was always helping others. Despite her loving nature, she was also a firecracker. Anna May was a witty and clever person.
Anna May is survived by her children Robert, Charles, Wendel, Ann, Nanette, Jeanne, Lisa, Scott, John, and Holly. Her family tree branches out to 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on March 15, 2022, from 5-9 p.m. (Rosary 7 pm) at Eternal Valley Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on March16, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Canyon Country. A reception in the church hall will follow immediately thereafter. The burial will then follow, at 1:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Lancaster, Ca.
