Ann demonstrated athletic talent at a very young age. She enjoyed playing on a woman's softball team, excelled at bowling, and even won medals for swimming.
Ann enjoyed tap dancing and performed at the Palace Theater in Cleveland, Ohio. She also loved dancing at the Aragon Ballroom. It was there that she met the love of her life, Stanley Pawlak, as they danced the nights away. They were married in 1948 and they shared 47 years of marriage until Stanley passed away in 1995.
Ann enjoyed raising her five children and took great pride in her efforts as a homemaker. She loved baking and was revered among friends and family for her delicious date nut bars! Her passion to provide good nutrition for her family resulted from her position as a dietician's aide at Granada Hills Community Hospital.
Ann is survived by her five children and their spouses, Debee and Dennis Black, Robert Pawlak, Donna and Greg Barata, Dianna van Vliet, and Ron Pawlak. She treasured her eight grandchildren, Brenton and Danielle Black, Ryan, Scott and Spencer Vanderheyden, and Cory, Nicolas, and Brittney van Vliet. She is also survived by her sisters and their spouses, Rita and Jack Becka and Joyce and Richard Hennessey, and many nieces and nephews.
Ann will always be cherished for her positive attitude, for making the best of every situation, for her strong faith in God.
