Eugene W. Prosser, age 86, of Tonawanda, formerly of Lockport, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Fiddlers Green manor in Springville. Born September 24, 1926 in Buffalo, Eugene is the son of the late Wilfred and Loretta (Schmitt) Prosser.
Eugene served his country in the US Navy from 1944 until 1947 as a Seaman First Class. He married the late Mary Popp July 13, 1951 at St. Anna R.C. Church in Buffalo. Mary died March 1, 1995. He married Helen Cheskiewicz May 18, 1996 in Las Vegas. He had worked at Harrison Radiator in Lockport retiring December 24, 1991 after 20 years. He was a member of the Buffalo Eagles and was Cub Scout master at Kenton District in the Town of Tonawanda. He was also a member of Wild Life Management and the Warrens Corners 4 H Club.
Eugene is survived by his wife: Helen Cheskiewicz of Tonawanda. Father of: Mark (Ruth) Prosser of Lockport, Michael (Wendy) Prosser of Newfane and Michelle Kiah of Middleport. Step father of: Leonard (Debbie) Cheskiewicz and James (Kathy) Schriver. Grandfather of: Jen White, Pat Kiah, Adam Prosser, Jean-Michael Prosser and Amanda Brosius. He is also survived by 5 step grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Avenue, Newfane from 7-9 pm. Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Newfane, NY at the convenience of the family.
