Wilma Marie (Seaton) Russell was born March 31, 1932, in rural Kentucky to the late, Pearl (McCormick) and James Seaton. She was the last surviving child of thirteen. Wilma was a loving and devout mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an award-winning saleswoman with Home Interiors and was a gregarious and charismatic woman. She was a devout Christian and reveled in her faith in our Lord and went to his arms on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
She is survived by her son, Clyde "Kent" Parker; daughter-in-law, Rebecca "Becky" Parker; stepdaughter, Peggy Ford; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who were cared for and loved by Wilma as she would her own children.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Clyde Parker and her loving second husband, Lee Russell in 2009 after 45 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death are two daughters, Joyce (Larry) Beck and Cherry (Peter) Helms-Costa; stepson, Gary (Connie) Russell; and her grandson, Jeremiah Parker.
Wilma was steadfast in her faith in Jesus Christ and is now with all her beloved family in Heaven. She was a messenger of Christ and loved to spread his word. She was a welcoming and beautiful person who enjoyed spending time with her family.
The family is especially thankful to her first grandson, Shawn Turi, who was instrumental in her care in the last years of her life and ensured she was comfortable and well cared for in her last days.
A Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Mike Pyle. Family and friends may visit Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. A Graveside service will follow on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in Springdale Cemetery, located in Sebree, KY.
