Bill managed grocery stores for more than thirty years, including the Great Scot Store at Vann & Covert from 1970 until retiring in 1980.
After attending Frankfort Bible College, he and his wife became passionate about ministering music, traveling around Northern Indiana. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family.
Bill was a member of Forest Hills Wesleyan Church in Evansville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ida Plummer and brother, Charles B. Plummer.
Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Naomi Ruth (Scantland) Plummer of Evansville; daughters, Susan Tron (Don) of Newburgh and Kathy Naramore (Faron) of Decatur, AL; son, William C. Plummer II (Rebecca) of Newburgh; brother, Leo Plummer (Delores) of Burlington, IA; sister, Bertha Schadt of Mt. Pleasant, IA; brother, Marvin Plummer (Pat) of Madisonville, KY; sisters, Charlotte Allen (Dick) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Phyllis Parker (Larry) of Salem, IA; brother, Halvor Plummer (Diane) of Burlington, IA; grandchildren, Craig Morton, Tisha Vestal, Kaitlin Plummer and Brandon Taylor; three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jack Arney of Crossroads Christian Church, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday, from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
