Frank attended Spottsville Elementary School and Holy Name Catholic High School in Henderson, Kentucky. He joined the US Navy in 1952 and served on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt Air Craft Carrier in Europe during the Korean War, served in the Indiana National Guard, and was a member of the American Legion Kapperman Post 44 and Honor Guard.
He worked in the automotive after-market business for 13 years, retired from INDOT in 1995 as a road inspector after 15 years, and served on the Newburgh Indiana Town Board as Police Commissioner.
Frank was a member and usher at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh and the Knights of Columbus.
He served on the Board of Directors for the Warrick County Council on Aging. He enjoyed camping, anything automotive, and was an Indianapolis Colts Fan.
Frank was preceded in death by parents Sam and Kathryn Hamilton, sister Jane Hamilton Burke, brother Richard Hamilton, and daughter Mary Pat Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Hamilton; son, Richard L. Hamilton (Terri Charles-Hamilton); grandson, Cole Richard Hamilton; sisters, Mary Ann Thrasher, Nancy Wrinkles (Dennis) and Sarah Jennings; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 25, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, officiated by Fr. Attila Frohlich, with entombment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military services conducted by Kapperman Post 44. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Alexander Newburgh Chapel where a Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM, and Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Kapperman Post 44 Honor Guard.
