Dale served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Carl Vinson. He was an ordained minister and pastored several churches in Mississippi and Indiana. He worked with North American Mission Board as a Church Planning Catalyst in Southwest Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle May Eakes; his sons, Joshua Eakes and Andrew Eakes; his father Grover Eakes and mother, Mitzie Eakes of Meridian, Mississippi. He also leaves his two brothers, John Eakes and Clifton Eakes; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 10th at 5:00pm at Midway Baptist Church in Meridian, Mississippi. A memorial service will also be held Thursday, October 12th at 5:00pm at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Evansville, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cooperative Program c/o State Convention of Baptists in Indiana, 7805 State Road 39 Martinsville, IN 46151 may be made in honor of Dale’s work.
