Wanda Cowan

She loved the Lord so much. She faithfully served Him as organist, Secretary-Treasurer, and nursery worker at Church of Christ in Christian Union in Evansville before becoming a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Newburgh.

Wanda had been a longtime employee of General Foods and retired in 1979. She attended Daniel Wertz grade school and was a graduate of Reitz High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey Lee Cowan; and sister, Mildred Andrews.

Wanda is survived by her step-daughter, Lee Juanell Flener (Charlie); their daughters, Jan Smith (Gary), and Carol Wilson (Mark); great-grandchildren, Angie Wright (Duke), Derik Smith (Amy), and Scott Wilson; great-great-grandchildren, Ethan Wright, Noah, Caleb and Hannah Smith.

Services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, October 25, 2010, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Pastor Ken Slater with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday, 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
