"Vern" graduated from Reitz High School, Class of 1946, and served in the U.S. Army as a medical technician in Korea. He was a member of IBEW Local 16 and the Free Masons. Vern was a long-time square dance caller, well known in the tristate area. He received a commission of Kentucky Colonel, and was a member of the Blue Grass Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy and Arnold; sister, Dorthea, and his first wife, Jeanette Garrett Seddon.
Vern is survived by his wife, Mary (Patterson) Vickers Seddon; children, Karen Seddon, Steve Seddon (Patti) and Kelli Seddon-Burris (Roy); grandchildren, Kirk and Kara Seddon, Garrett Seddon (Celty), and Royce and Mason Burris; 3 great-grandchildren; step-children, Angie Vickers Rhoades (Timothy) and Anthony Vickers; step-grandchildren, Jeremy and Branden (Liz), and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, a donation may be made in honor of Vernon Seddon to the American Cancer Society.
