Richard D. "Bud" Haire, Sr.

Bud was a past member and Deacon at Mt. Zion General Baptist Church and a member and Deacon of Country View General Baptist Church. He was a Navy Veteran for four years, serving on the USS Roanoke, and worked at the Naval Academy for eight years. He retired after 30 years from Coca Cola Bottling Company and was a Kentucky Colonel. Bud enjoyed spending time with family, going out to eat, and watching his grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn (Huff) Haire of Evansville; son, Rick (Debbie) Haire, Jr. of Evansville; daughters, Dawn (Mike) Durchholz of Newburgh and Tracy (Homer) Haire of Reed, KY; grandchildren, Dustin (Winter) Durchholz , Brandon (Erin James) Durchholz, Ryan and Chris Haire, and Shasta (Lance) Speaks; brothers, Terry and Randy Haire; sister, Wanda Young; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gary Ashby, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
