She was a teacher at St. John the Baptist Catholic School for 17 years and was nominated for Teacher of the Year. During her teaching career, she coordinated school music programs, organized beyond the textbook field trips, and designed elaborate bird watching assignments for the children.
Becky loved to play piano and shared her gift by playing for St. John’s many Sundays, where she was a member for 30 years. She was an accomplished pianist as a teenager. Her spirituality was very important to her; she spent her mornings in the rocker with coffee, reading and reflecting. Becky loved the outdoors; planting and caring for trees and flowers, and growing a “living fence.”
She was a constant, loving mother of four, and a dedicated, loving wife. She enjoyed the celebrations of life and family gatherings for graduations, Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthdays. She was passionate about being “Gram” to her grandchildren.
Becky is survived by her husband of 14 years, Tony Schnur of Newburgh; sons, Brian Key (Emily) of Brownsburg, IN and David Key of Evansville; daughters, Sarah Smith (Jeremy), Lauren Key; and mother, Evelyn Baumgart, all of Evansville; sister, Jill Collier (Dick) of Newburgh; 4 grandchildren; and niece, Heather Fender of Ft.
