Obituary of Peggy Wolowitz
It is with great sadness that the family of Peggy Anne Wolowitz announce her sudden passing on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, who suffered a stroke at the age of 73. Peggy attended Thomas Edison High School, Elmira NY and began her lifelong love of music playing saxophone. She earned her license as a registered nurse from Corning Community College. She was a medical professional who dedicated her life to providing compassionate care to others. Served as a critical care nurse for ten years at Arnot Ogden Memorial Hospital. Worked in internal medicine with Foster House Medical Associates as well as oncology and bariatrics. She thought of her patients as members of her family and rejoiced in the gift of healing. Above all, Peggy loved her family and friends. Thank you to those that touched her life in so many ways. She had a passion for living life to its fullest. She enjoyed dancing and listening to music, admired horses, traveling the world and spending time by the water. She had a genuine love for people and had a unique gift of connecting with others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Inez and Donald Kieffer, who raised her in Elmira, NY; and her husband of 34 years, John Wolowitz. Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her partner of 11 years, Bennie Arnold of Newburgh, IN; son, Jeffrey Wolowitz (Kristen Wolowitz) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Amanda, Angela, and Nikolai Wolowitz; daughter, Julie Wolowitz (Noufal Elmouhafidi) of Fresno, CA; grandchildren Zackaria, Amirah, Sophia, and Adam Elmouhafidi; step-daughter, Olivia Alfano; grandchildren Sonny and little Davey; sister, Carol Whiting (Mike Whiting) of Foley, AL; nephews Scott and Todd Whiting; brother, Bill Kieffer (Jo Ann Kieffer) of Van Etten, NY; niece Allison Kieffer Reinholtz; and brother, Rick Kieffer (Danette Kieffer) of Gulf Shores, AL.
