Norma Pauline Gaston

She was a member of Lakewood Methodist Church in California for over 20 years. While there, she was a Youth Leader for 4 years. Norma also taught Sunday School and helped in Vacation Bible School. She was active on the Church Board and committees, and served as Circle secretary and President. Norma also volunteered as a Camp Fire Leader for 10 years; and was a PTA member and officer at all grade levels for all three children. She retired as Office Manager for an insurance agent in California after 16 years. Upon returning to Indiana, she joined Newburgh United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Deborah Circle, and volunteered in the Clothes Closet and Food Pantry. She also became active as a political volunteer after her retirement.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Gilbert Gaston, on April 30, 2017.

She is survived by sons, Steven Gaston (Susan), David Gaston (Kaye); daughter, Sandra McMurtry (Patrick); eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 6:00 PM on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. Friends may visit 4:00 PM until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
