Maurine enjoyed many years of fun travel with her husband, Gaylord, bridge clubs, dinners with friends, and sharing love with her pets. In the last several years she found the purest love for children. She outwardly showed this by volunteering at Crossroads Christian Church's "The Light Company."
She adored the music of Elvis, had a flair for interior design, and took every opportunity to laugh. She was a self-proclaimed home body and "Ole Fuddy Duddy." Her favorite place to be was a "get together" with family. No holiday passed without a painstakingly prepared meal or fun treat to be shared with the ones she loved most. Her Christmas cookies are legendary!
Though she endured many traumas throughout her life, Maurine’s solid faith grew only stronger with each heartbreaking trial. Things that would make other's hearts bitter cultivated in her empathy for others. She gave the absolute best advice.
Her talents were many, yet unconventional. Her resilient, humble, appreciative, creative, and encouraging spirit shown brightest through the lives of those who had the blessing of loving her and being loved by her. None could part time spent talking to this Wife, Mom, Grandma, GG, without feeling uplifted and inspired knowing we had the world's greatest cheerleader on our side. Because of this, she will remain a daily part of each of our lives.
Maurine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gaylord; sister, Margaret; twin daughters, Margaret and Carole; and granddaughter, Leslie.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Ann Johnson (Steve) of Elberfeld, IN; grandchildren, Mark Mayfield (Marcella), Greg Mayfield, Lisa Wine, Laura Buffington (Gray), Eric Wine, Kellie Jean (Greg), Kevin Johnson (Michele); great-grandchildren, Kristi (Troy), Kristen, Steven, Cheyenne, Shane, Dylan, Isaac, Ella Grace, Brayden, Chloe, Kaylee, Zachary, Kenzy, Carter, Kolten; and several nieces and nephews.
