Janet graduated from Washington Catholic High School in 1977 and the University of Evansville in 1981, to pursue a career in healthcare. She worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant serving others at home and in the community. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she served on many school and church counsels and groups. She was proud to receive the Bilskie Award in 2022 for exemplifying “stewardship” in her service of time, talent and treasure.
She enjoyed cooking, crafts, gardening, sitcoms, and the simple things. Most of all, she loved her family and friends and poured her heart into “gifting” others. Janet was a person who loved big, gave way more than she took, and put God and family before herself. She was so proud to raise her three daughters and their many accomplishments. Her family and friends will miss her very much.
Janet is survived by her husband of 32 years, Patrick Wempe; daughters, Hannah Jolly (Jay), Grace Bryant (Erik) and Madelyn Wempe; granddaughter, Amelia Bryant; sister, Julie Templin Purdue (Jeff); brothers, James Templin (Jill), John Templin (Karen) and Joe Templin (Jen); and nieces and nephews.
