Irene McCoy, 88, of Newburgh, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Golden LivingCenter Woodlands, surrounded by her family. She was born to Elza and Charlotte (Pancake) Reed on December 7, 1922, in Oakland City, IN.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and retired from Evansville Airport as a chef. She enjoyed collecting dolls, reading and making greeting cards.
Irene was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Hogan; three brothers; two sisters; and one grandson.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Lawrence McCoy, of Newburgh; daughters, Paula Patton, Ruth Driskell and Wilma Keller (Chuck); sons, Bill Hogan (Robin) and Larry McCoy (Rita); 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 20, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, officiated by Fr. Joseph Ziliak, with entombment in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261.
