Crandell H. Slaughter

Crandell was a hard-working man that took pride in providing for his family. He enjoyed sports, especially local high school sports, horse racing, playing pool and chess. He loved learning and then teaching others what he learned. Crandell was a veteran serving in the Army during the Vietnam War.

Crandell is preceded in death by his wife Robin Slaughter, son Stacy Slaughter, brother Freddie, father-in-law Leroy Stateler, and mother-in-law Ruth Sluder.

He is survived by his mother, Gilda Slaughter of Evansville; children Crandell (Dell) Slaughter Jr. (Nikki) of Acworth GA, Marcus Slaughter (Aisha) of Jeffersonville IN, Burgandy Nichols (Jason) of Newburgh IN, and James Slaughter; sister Glennschella Taylor (Velo McCurly) of Indianapolis IN; as well as his grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will honor Crandell’s wish to not have any visitation or service (a wish he shared with his late wife).

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial contributions in memory of Crandell and Robin be made to the non-profit or charity of your choice.
