Carol Elizabeth Smith

Carol Elizabeth Smith, 75, of Boonville, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born November 17, 1947 in Evansville to the late Simon and Mary (Robertson) Seger. She was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Chrisney and then at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh. Her faith was an important part of her life. Carol was a lifelong beautician, working at Newburgh Healthcare for many years. After her children were grown, she opened a barbershop in Dale. Carol enjoyed ceramics and was truly an artist. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her son, Brian Smith, and sister, Brenda Seger. She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Stinson-Smith (Lisa) and Elisha Lear (Greg); son, Gregory Pippenger-Smith (Brian); grandchildren, Oliva and Brady Stinson-Smith and Abby and Spencer Lear, and brother, Larry Seger (Lynn). Many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 4, 2023 at St. Clements Catholic Church, 422 W. Sycamore Street, Boonville, IN, officiated by Fr. Jack Durchholz, with burial in Centerville Cemetery in Chrisney. Family and friends may visit Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
