He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Dakota and his Master’s Degree from Penn State University. He retired from Vectren where he was a Scada Engineer. He enjoyed ice hockey, NASCAR and target shooting. Brian was a do-it-yourselfer. He loved to grill and was always the life of the party. He was a beloved husband and father.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents; and mother-in-law, Betty Weber.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Terrie; son, Shawn Smith of Vancouver, British Columbia; step-son, Kevin Meyer of Miamisburg, OH, brothers, Barry (Gigi) of St. Adele, Quebec, Frank (Marlene) of London, Ontario, Nelson (Dave) of Hannon, Ontario; father-in-law, Clement Weber of Evansville; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law: many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM, Friday, April 22, 2016, at St. Rupert Catholic Church, 1244 Red Brush Road, Newburgh, IN, officiated by Father Lowell Will. Friends may visit 3-7 PM on Thursday at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh, where a Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Clements Building Fund, Boy Scouts of America – Buffalo Trace Council, or Warrick Humane Society.
