Obituary of Betty Lou Hendrickson
Betty Lou Hendrickson, 95, of Newburgh, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Newburgh Healthcare. She was born December 15, 1927 in Newburgh to the late Ernest A. and Mary Isabel (Ferguson) Esche. She graduated from Newburgh High School and Lockyear College. Betty Lou was vice-president of Hendrickson Enterprises, Inc. in Boonville. She was a past member of the Rose Hill Cemetery Board, Newburgh Park Board, Ohio Township Library Board, and the Newburgh Kiwanis Club. Betty Lou was a member of Zion United Church of Christ where she was in the Zion prayer ministry. She enjoyed knitting and had taught knitting classes for many years. Betty Lou was preceded in death by her husband, J. Otterbein Hendrickson, and brother, Charles Esche. She is survived by her sons, David (Lana) Hendrickson and James (JoAnn) Hendrickson; daughter, Laura (Bill) Sanders; sister, Alice Elaine Schmidt; grandchildren, Kelly Sanders, Aaron Neese, Natalie Wells, Sonam Dolma and Emilie Evers; and great grandchildren, Camden and Brayden Neese, Nolan and Kinley Evers, Noah, Makenna, Lilah, and Landon Wells. A Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Dan Kennedy, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may visit Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Church of Christ, 10 W. 1st Street, Newburgh, IN 47630.
