She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. She taught at Caze Elementary School and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church preschool, and was a program assistant at Newburgh Elementary and Castle South Middle School. Anita lived to teach. She adored the students and staff that she was able to teach or work with from her years in education. She was especially fond of Castle South Middle School. She was a Dragon, and the Castle South community will always be a part of her. She will miss all of the students and co-workers she had the pleasure of encountering in her teaching journey. Anita's other passion was her grandchildren. She was never too busy to help and always put them over anything else. Her grandchildren will miss the homework help, the advice, the patience, the understanding, and the love that was always present in her. She fought for as long as she could with grace and humor. Her fighting spirit was an inspiration to her family.
Anita was preceded in death by her father, James Peteritas, and grandson, Ethan Tarter.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Conapinski; mother, Dorothy (Morgan) Peteritas; children, Kelly Conapinski, Kyle Conapinski (Karie) and Kelsie Tarter (Jimmy) all of Newburgh; grandchildren, Jonathan Kelly, Reagan Kelly, Anthony Conapinski, Andrew Conapinski, Eli Tarter, Ellie Tarter and Cash Ailstock; brothers, Gary Peteritas (Celeste) of Pottstown, PA and Scott Peteritas (Kathy) of Newburgh; sisters, Cyndy Beavin (John) of Evansville and Donna Kappler (Brian) of Newburgh, and sister-in-law, Carol Semanchick (Mike) of Blandon, PA.
