78, a lawyer and accountant, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in New York City, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of forty five years, Jeanne, along with two brothers, Edward and Thomas, and was preceded in death by his brother, James. William was the cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews and was adored by his dog, Abby. He was a gentle, witty man who enjoyed people's laughter and the absurdities of life. He had a big heart, but in the end it failed him. William was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and graduated from Fordham Law School. He was a voracious reader and a Civil War buff. William and Jeanne enjoyed the theater, the opera and the Rolling Stones. He was loved by his family, friends, colleagues and clients for his quiet intelligence, impeccable integrity and irresistible sense of humor. Friends may call at Frank E.
