Vivian Woo, beloved wife, mother, stepmother, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Born on December 11, 1969, to Stella and Raymond Kan, Vivian's warmth and resilience touched everyone she met. She lived a life of love and dedication to her family, always putting the well-being of those she cared for above all else.
Vivian excelled in her career as a Chief People Officer, a role in which she embodied her passion for caring for others. Known for going above and beyond to ensure her colleagues felt valued and heard. Her leadership and compassion left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with her.
She never hesitated to drop everything to help a friend or stranger in need, always offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or simply her time. Even in her final moments, Vivian’s concern was for others, ensuring her loved ones were cared for and supported.
Vivian is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Woo; her cherished son, Evan Springer; and her beloved stepsons, Tristan Woo and Adrien Woo. She will forever be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generosity, and her strength in the face of life’s challenges.
Vivian’s battle with cancer was a testament to her courage and determination, and her family finds solace in knowing she was surrounded by love during her final moments.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, in the workplaces she helped transform, and in the countless lives she touched during her time with us.
A celebration of Vivian’s life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor, 75 Churchill Ave, North York, ON. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her honor to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or a cancer research charity of your choice.
