

Tamara Linton passed away peacefully at home in New York City on Saturday, March 12th. She was 97 and lived a long and productive life with her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, William (Lodia) Linton. She is survived by her brothers, Leon (Ruth) and Michael (Sandi) Back, as well as her children, Dr Ronald Linton (Michelle), Dr Gary Linton (Nancy), and Karen (Dr Bruce Denker). She had 7 grandchildren who she adored; Jackie, Adam, Jason, Julie, Kimmie, Chris, and Matt. Her great grandchildren filled her heart and always made her smile; Matthew and Seth, Olivia and Zachary, Bianca and Oliver, and Elara and Soren. In her final years, she was given extraordinary care and comfort by her aide, Anna Osnovich.
Tamara Bacaleinic was born in Antwerp, Belgium and fled to the United States at the age of 16. Her family was aided by Aristides de Sousa Mendes, who courageously signed their transport papers in June of 1940. When the war ended, Tamara and Lodia married in New York City where she later opened Tamara Boutique on East 70th St. She loved spending time with family, her dog Tiga, playing bridge and canasta, and conversing with her many friends. She will be remembered for her elegance, savoir faire, worldliness, business acumen, and inner and outer beauty.
