Sylvia Landau, 91, passed away on November 11, 2022. For all but the last few years she was a woman of amazing energy and zest for life—living her dream in her New York City apartment and attending as many theatrical plays, museum exhibitions, and restaurants as she could get to. After she contracted Covid-19 in 2020, her health steadily declined. As she had always wished, she was in her home and her own bed the night she passed.
Family was always the most important thing to Sylvia, whether that meant hosting or attending holiday gatherings and birthday parties, proudly showing up at relative’s college and grad school graduations, or liking every single social media post by a family member. She was also proud of the sales career she created for herself in midlife, where she quickly rose to the top ranks of her agency.
Sylvia leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her family, children David (Mirian), Gary (Meryl) and Joanie (Neal), the five grandchildren she never stopped bragging about, Brian (Ari), Caroline (Alex), Richard (Karla), Kelsey (Leo) and Brandon (Katie), and her most beloved great-grandchildren, Jack, Barr, Zachary, and Isaac. She is also survived by two of her four siblings, Milton “Nashe” (Kathy) and Rhoda.
