Those close to him called him affectionately Bob or Bobby. He was warm and approachable, friendly with a great sense of humor. He just made you just want to be his friend the moment you met him.
Even those who met him briefly remember him for a long time as he left strong positive impressions
After serving 3 years in the US Navy on the USS Coral Sea, he attended Cooper Union College on the G.I Bill. He started his own Textile business, Foldtex, headquartered in New Jersey from which he retired at age 60. He then traveled extensively and spent time in the South of France.
Bob has traveled all over the world during his years of Service and later with his wife. He loved people of all nations for their different cultures, food and countries and never tired of making new friends.
Bob is survived by his wife Nadia, son Marc, daughters Pamela and Leslie in addition to several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves a large family in France whom he inherited from his wife. They all voted him "the best in law " of the family each time he reunited with them.
In lieu of flowers the family recommends donations to the Wounded Warrior Project and St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
A funeral for Robert will be held Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 9:15 AM at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 West 76th St, New York, New York 10023.
Following the funeral will be a burial at at Beth David Cemetery, 300 Elmont Road, Elmont, NY. This will take place at approximately 11 o'clock.
