Robert Carlyle Carpenter, 33, of Brooklyn, NY, beloved husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend and mentor, passed away surrounded by his family on April 6, 2024 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. As kind and considerate as he was ambitious and hard-working, Robby lifted the spirits and prospects of everyone fortunate enough to know him. A graduate of the Kellogg School of Management, he excelled in his years at Kaiser Associates and most recently at The Knot Worldwide, where he was chief of staff. He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in political science from Middlebury College, where he was also a huge hitter on the varsity golf squad. Robby was a constant, caring, and remarkable friend who was always ready to lend a hand to those who needed it, and his keen insight and level-headed counsel were prized by colleagues, friends and family. When he was discovered to have a rare type of melanoma, he met this adversity with resilience, courage and determination right through to the end. He is survived by his wife Emily McKelvey Carpenter, his parents Stephen and Wendy Carpenter-Israel and his sister Lily Carpenter-Israel. Even as we grieve his passing, we remember the warmth of his love, his generosity of spirit, and his impossibly sweet and occasionally sly smile.
A memorial service for Robby will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 10:00 AM at All Souls Unitarian Church, 1157 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10075. Following the service, a reception will be held at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10028.
