peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2023, in Palm Beach,
Florida. Mickey was born on October 3, 1935, and was
the middle child of Reva and Robert Sidel. He was
predeceased by his brothers, Harold ("Kenny") and
Stephen, and survived by his wife of fifty-two years
Helene, daughters Karen and Jennifer, son James,
sons-in-law Steven and Joshua, and grandchildren
Jessica, Natalie, Sophie, Zachary and Samuel. Mickey
was raised in Lawrence, Long Island, NY. An avid golfer,
he was captain of the Lawrence High School golf team
for three years. At the age of 12, he and his father won
the Long Island Parent and Child golf championship.
Mickey attended the University of Virginia, where he
graduated with a bachelor of arts degree. He became a
member of the New York Stock Exchange in 1966 and
remained there until it became a public company.
Mickey was on the board of Fight for Sight, on which
he served as Secretary. He was a devoted son and
treasured his wife and daughters more than anything.
He loved his grandchildren, and their visits to his home
in Florida were the joy of his life. No words can
describe his love for his wife, and the devotion they
showed to each other never wavered.
