
I was the head of school at Nightingale when Maria was the Registrar. She was a no-nonsense pro with the clunky database we had but knew how to find the humor in the impossible. Her office was close to mine, and I loved the sound of her laughter! Everyone enjoyed  being around her. 

After I went through treatment for breast cancer, Maria sent me a pink “survivor” t-shirt long after we’d both left Nightingale. Dammit, I wish she were still on this earth as a survivor with you, her family. May God hold you close in your grief.


Maria was such a special person. Maria had a welcoming spirit who always wanted the best for you.  Maria always made sure she looked out for me and we connected the moment we met 5 years ago. I cherished the time we spent together, whether it was walking home from Columbus Circle or whether it was going to our favorite lunch time spot,  All Star Sport Bar & Grill.  Maria was one of a kind and I feel fortunate and blessed to have known her.  I am devastated by her passing but I will always remember our friendship and pray that I see her again one day. R.I.P. Maria.

I am heartbroken to hear of this loss. Maria, was one of my most favorite regulars at O'flanagan's. Every time she walked in I knew my bartending shift would be better. We talked sports a lot (us both being Green Bay Packers fans) and laughed even more. She was such a beautiul person inside and out. I had to take a medical leave from bartending for a bit this year and hadn't seen her in a few months. I am sad I never got to see or talk to her one last time but I hope she knew how much she always made me smile. She will be missed so very much. RIP Maria and Go Pack Go!

We met at CBGB’s on my first date with Pat. You quickly became my sister. Thank you for all the love you shared. I’ll love you always. 

Rest in peace my beautiful, generous, brave and fun loving sister.   Although your time with us was way too brief,  you enjoyed life to the fullest and made life better for us all.  As the necklace you gave me says : Always sisters, forever friends.  Love you always💞

So glad we had this cousin reunion and any future ones certainly won't be the same without her.  Will always remember her smile and fun-loving spirit.  RIP Maria....we are comforted that you are reunited with your parents and other family members.
