Dear Cristina,

I am bereft to hear of Marco's passing, as are all of his many friends at Princeton. Marco's devotion to our Museum was an inspiration to all of his; his presence inevitably brought lightness, sophistication, and wit to any gathering. We shall find the right occasion to remember his loyalty here. For now, I send my warmest condolences in this time of deep sadness. It is hard to imagine New York without him!

Dear Cristina,
Kindly accept my deepest sympathies on Marco's passing. I extend my condolences to Matteo and Irene. 
Marco and I met forty years ago at the Detroit Institute of Arts. We stayed in touch while I was in Detroit, but before I moved to New York, his invaluable advice was instrumental in helping me open a studio here. 
I have fond memories of traveling to India with him and how, in Jaipur, he wanted me to take him to the most renowned jewelry store to buy you a gift. 
His absence has left a void that cannot be filled. Marco was always ready to lend a hand, and one always knew he would advise and execute if needed. He is truly missed.

I am devastated with the news of Marco’s passing.  For me, New York is not New York without Marco.  My many visits with him in and out of his studio were formative for me and among my fondest memories.  I looked forward to seeing you both in Florence.
