Luisa Diaz, 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in the Bronx, New York, at Montefiore Hospital at 2:45 p.m. She was born on August 17, 1931, to Jose Guadalupe and Marta Lopez, in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico.
In December 1947 Luisa married Serafin Diaz at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Manhattan. Luisa worked many years as a millinery worker making hats. In 1963, she moved with her family to University Heights in the Bronx where she lived for 59 years. Luisa was very devoted to her husband, children, family and beliefs, and enjoyed walking all around her neighborhood, listening to music on the radio, completing puzzles and crafts, and playing bingo at the Morris Senior Center.
Luisa was predeceased by her husband Serafin of 57 years. She is survived by her oldest son Luis and his wife Francia, her youngest son James and his wife Theresa and their son Alexander. Services and burial will be private at the family’s convenience.
