FIALKOFF, Linda, of Alpine, NJ and Crested Butte, Colorado, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, December 18th, 2021 at 74 years old. Linda awed all who knew her with her strength and resilience, and her passing comes as a shock to those who knew and admired her for the invincible, fiery woman she was. She now rests with the love of her life, her late husband, Frank, leaving behind her children Brett and Gabrielle, daughter-in-law and soon-to-be son-in-law Heather and Gianluca, and grandchildren Andie, Hannah, Jack, and Thea.
From her early childhood in New Rochelle, New York, Linda shined as a star student who loved to read; later in life, her interest in anthropology and her artistic prowess led her to pursue a master’s degree where she recorded Etruscan artifacts at archeological sites in Italy. The genesis of Linda’s long and happy life, however, started at age fifteen, when she hopped in the passenger seat of a black convertible and was whisked away by her ‘bad boy’ crush. From that moment on, Linda and Frank built a life full of love, laughter, and family. Together, they danced the nights away at Studio 54, travelled the world, and founded Haskell Jewels in 1990 which Linda fearlessly took over upon Frank’s passing in 2015.
Linda will doubtlessly be remembered for her impeccable style, her gift of gab, and her unwavering courage in the face of adversity. So too will Linda be remembered for her work with the Adaptive Sports Center of Crested Butte, Colorado, as a client who loved to cross-country ski and hike, as a board member who never shied away from giving her opinions, and as a board president who led the organization to new heights with grace and elegance. Above all, Linda found joy in the love she received from her friends and family and returned that love in a prolific way.
