I was also a high school classmate of Larry's. In the past five years or so, some of us got together for luncheons in Midtown Manhattan. This past December (2019), I attended another of these pleasant get-togethers, and I noticed Larry's absence. I, too, was shocked to hear of his passing. He usually took control at the end, calculating how much each should pay (we shared the cost equally). He always added a 20% tip, and I credit Larry with thinking of the good service we received. We miss him!

Larry was a true gentleman.  We were high school classmates but had gotten to know each other better the last few years because our wives had similar medical problems.  I was scheduled to have lunch with him 9/26 but he cancelled saying he was in the ER the day before with a UTI.  Needless to say his death came as a shock and I will miss having more chances to get together.  My condolences to the whole family.
