Ken served in the US Coast Guard reserve from 1960 to 1968.
After obtaining a BA from Brown University in 1967, Ken attended Fordham Law School, obtained his JD in 1970, and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1971 and to the Connecticut Bar in 1993. He practiced family law in New York City for over 50 years and was a member of the New York City Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and numerous other committees and associations.
Known for his positive spin on life and his joie-de-vivre, Ken lived to make his wife Erica laugh and to coax smiles from everyone around him. With his love for language and the arts, Ken was a renaissance man who enjoyed the theater, concerts and museums. A lover of all things Parisian, Ken was fluent in French and enjoyed traveling worldwide with Erica. He was an avid aviator and a sailor and made the most of sky, sea and all in between.
Cherished husband to Erica Mann Jong, adored step-father to Molly Jong-Fast and Samantha Richman. Loving grandfather to Max, Darwin, Beatrice and Francesca. Brother to Jonathan Burrows and the late Patricia Burrows. Brother-in-law to Annie Burrows, Milt Wolfson, Suzanna Daou, Claudia Oberweger-Frank and Yitzchak Frank. Nephew to Roberta Wells, cousin to Linda Sirow and Dr. Harold Koplewicz, Richard and Lynn Sirow, Daniel and Joanne Sirow. Beloved friend to many. His charm, positive humor and wit will be sorely missed and his stories and passion will live on for generations.
A service will be held at Frank Campbells Funeral Home (1076 Madison Avenue, at 81st Street, New York, NY 10028) at 2:30pm on Friday, December 15.
