Jonathan Hayes Bradley, 36, of New York, NY died suddenly at his residence on Saturday, February 19th, 2022. Born in Manhattan, he was the son of Clifton Cornell Bradley and Geraldine Lansing Hayes. Jonathan resided on the Upper Westside of Manhattan for most of his life but recently moved to the Lower Eastside and was a resident of East Midtown Plaza 401 First Avenue. During his youth Jonathan attended PS 87 for elementary school, the Delta Program for middle school and the High School for Environmental Studies. He went on to study for his Bachelor of Science degree initially at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY and then onto John Jay College in Manhattan where he earned his B.S. degree in Social work.
During his professional career Jonathan worked in Queens, NY teaching physical education to developed mentally challenged adults and he was an Executive Chauffeur for Corporations throughout NYC. Jonathan’s favorite professional accomplishment was when he co-founded a successful urban clothing line called UpScene which celebrated his love for the Upper West Side and NYC in general. At the time of his passing Jonathan was in the process of starting a new printing company and clothing line with two of his closest friends.
Jonathan was also a major sports enthusiast with a true passion for basketball. Jon shared his love of basketball by coaching the Junior Knicks and organizing a yearly community sports celebration for youth on the Upper Westside. He was a fan of the New York Mets and loyal NY Knicks fan. Jon watched every Knicks game and made sure to record the game if he knew he wouldn’t be home in time. Jonathan enjoyed family vacations and traveling throughout the US and Europe. He also loved spending time with his family, old friends and meeting new people. Jonathan will by greatly missed by his family and all of the friends he has made over the course of his life.
In addition to his parents, Jonathan is survived by his sister, Charlotte Bradley (Krista) of New York; an Uncle John Jay Hayes (Kathleen) of Estero, FL; and several beloved cousins. He is also survived by his Great Uncle Henry Williamson, Great Aunts Caroline Martin and Candis Bugg and his God Mother Gloria Gant. Jonathan was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Clifton Bradley and Annabelle Bradley, and maternal grandparents, John Hayes and Winifred Crannell Hayes Asher. He is also predeceased by his Aunt Linda Lattimer, Myrtle Pollard and Thelma Fraser.

WGX is a sports based organization focused on teaching teamwork, discipline, and responsibility to youths in high risk areas. WGX shares a passion of Jon’s; youth & sports with a focus on basketball.
