John H Snyder was born on June 15, 1941 in Neptune, NJ to a military family. He himself was a veteran of the US Army and of the US Marine Corps. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting and to be out in nature. He was also a sportsman enjoying softball, golf and baseball for many years. He was an exceptional father and husband, whose family meant everything to him. John retired from The City College o NY where he served as Dean of Faculty and Staff and Legal Designee. An ardent reader and true scholar he was the recipient of many accolades and honors during his academic, teaching and lecture careers. John's conversational skills were unequalled and inspiring. Many sought his perceptive counsel. His kind and generous nature was a gift to all. John has created a great void in his family and friends' lives. He will be missed and remembered with love and respect. May John be blessed and be at peace.
