John V. Hilton passed Sunday morning, May 28. at 88 years old. John was born in BayRidge, Brooklyn and was raised by his loving grandmother Olga. He lived his teenage years in Hialeah, Florida. After graduating high school John came to New York City.
In 1957 he met the love of his life Bill Campbell. They shared 54 wonderful years together traveling almost every year to Spain and visiting Mexico often. He worked for Otis Elevator Company American Express and Time Magazine and Planned Parenthood. He is pre-deceased by his dear sister Anita and his partner Bill Campbell who passed in 2011.
John was an avid artist and art collector. He enjoyed attending the NYC Ballet and Broadway Shows. John was a kind, loving, funny man who would help anyone. He loved spending time with his dear friends and his Grandsons by friendship, Billy and Joey.
“Lucky Johnny” always raised his glass to “Happy Days”. May he rest in peace having eternal happy days.
A private memorial service will be held.
