John has been our dearest and closest tenant here in Southampton for way more than twenty years.  Just knowing he was here was sufficient to lend us a small bit of feeling that we contributed to his having a place to "get away and unwind."

We always held him in the highest regard and will continue to do so until we, also, are no longer here.

Such a deeply caring, thoughtful and brilliant man. He helped me get a real grounded in sobriety years ago with his special evening meetings at his apartment where we would read the Big Book and share our reflections and current challenges in an amazingly caring and supportive community. He had a such a deep passion for and love of sobriety and talked about how we were, together, building an army of sober individuals that would help others overcome their addictions, and achieve personal strength, independence, authenticity, and freedom with love for all. I loved John and his friends so much and I am eternally grateful for his mentorship and strength in helping me achieve my sobriety.

I met John in London in 1987 when he started cutting my hair. We remained friends all these years   When he lived in LA he would come to my house and he would have me invite my girlfriends over and cut our hair on the back porch like an assembly line. We would laugh and he loved every minute. On my visits to NY I would always stop and see John and he would insist that he cut my hair, even though I had just had a cut by his friend Martin in LA! John was the best . The last time we saw each other I knew it would be our last and it broke my heart. I shall miss you dear friend.
