Hedy Bievliet Schranz peacefully passed away on September 19, 2012, as result of long-standing renal failure. Her husband, Howard, both children, Graeme and Colette, and very close friend Lydia, were at her side during the final hours.
Born in Paramaribo, Suriname, Hedy and her family moved to the Netherlands where she grew up. During a planned 2-year work assignment in New York, young Hedy and young Howard met and married, and her planned stay of two years became 32.
In addition of her immediate family, Hedy will be greatly missed by her 12 (yes 12) siblings and their families, and by numerous friends and relatives, here and across the seas.
