Gerry was born on June 21, 1949 to the late John McMackin and Mary Flanagan.
Gerry was born and raised in Yorkville and has been a resident of Ruppert Housing for more than 40 years. She enjoyed spending her time entertaining with friends and family, seeing shows and concerts, bowling, and caring for her granddaughter.
Gerry is survived by her husband, Walter, two sons Tommy (Colleen) and Michael (Lizzy) and granddaughter, Mollie.
She is also the sister to John McMackin (Marie) and Maureen Winterhoff (Richard) and the aunt to Jennifer, Denise, Susan, Dana, Kerry and Brittany.
A memorial service for Gerry will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chas. Peter Nagel Funeral Directors, 352 East 87th Street, New York, NY 10128.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church located at 404 E. 87th St. on Thursday, May 18th, at 10:30am.
