Frederick “Rick” Rohn of New York City, died at home on August 9, 2021 after a brief illness at the age of 69. Rick graduated from Colgate University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He began his legal career at White & Case and thereafter moved to Sacks Montgomery where he began to specialize in construction matters. At the time of his death, he was a partner in the law firm of Holland & Knight. Rick also had a gratifying second career as an adjunct professor at Cardozo Law School where he taught a course on drafting contracts and was able to share his knowledge and mentor future lawyers.
Rick loved his family and friends, sailing, theater and keeping up with every type and style of new music.
Rick is survived by his wife of almost 41 years, Frances Lippa, sons Michael (Mikaela) and David, grandchildren Benjamin and Norah, siblings Kathleen (Yvon), Douglas (Nancy), and Barbara (Mike), as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rick’s memory to the Public Interest Summer Stipends Fund at Cardozo Law School or to a charity of your choice.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, August 14th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Frank E. Campbell – The Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Avenue - New York, New York - 10028. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 15th at 12:00 noon at Frank E. Campbell – The Funeral Chapel.
