Edward Peter Keating
September 9, 1935 – January 11, 2012.
Edward Keating of Howard Beach, New York, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Born in Brooklyn, New York to Peter and Catherine Keating, Edward joined the United States Army and served in Germany. As Specialist Third Class, he attained a commendable scholastic rating and was subsequently selected Honor Student. In 1964, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Pace College, ranking 1st in his class, graduating magna cum laude, was rewarded the Eisner and Lubin Fellowship for Graduate Study, and earned his MBA at Pace.
Early in his career, he worked at the Bank of New York while teaching accounting, finance and management at Pace College. He went on to a successful business career, most notably as Treasurer of J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency.
He enjoyed playing baseball, hockey and watching football.
Edward is survived by his five children: Sharon Kozikowski, Kevin Keating, Kerri Obojkovits, Debra Keating, and Stacy Rotolo; his brother Jack Keating and sisters Barbara Tuccio, Nancy Keating and Kathy DelGaudio. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass service will be held at 9:00 AM January 16, 2012 at St. Stephen of Hungary Parish in New York City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Johns Hopkins University with “Jon Gerber's Research Fund” in the memo. Mail to:
