Chris was raised in Concord, Massachusetts, the son of Patricia and the late Joseph Trela.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Bianca and his daughter, Noelle Trela. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Trela; his brother, Theodore and his wife, Anya Kabaeva Trela; his sister, Laurel and her husband, Simon Besher; and his sister, Julie and her husband, Frank Tantillo and his nieces Katherine Tantillo and Anabelle Tantillo.
A graduate of Fordham University with a degree in Political Science, Chris lived a life as dynamic and multifaceted as it was inspiring. He worked as an agent for artists and performers in the entertainment industry. His passion for the arts eventually led him to create Trela Media, where he brought his creative vision to life to produce movies and books. Through his documentaries and art books, Chris expressed his deep appreciation for culture and the human experience.
A devoted cinephile and talented amateur photographer, Chris had a unique ability to capture the essence of society and the richness of everyday life. It was in the minutiae where Chris could and would glean a deeper meaning. Whether biking through the streets of New York City, curating his extensive art book collection, or sharing a perfectly timed joke, he infused originality and creativity into everything he did.
And while his love for music, cinema, and photography was a defining part of his character— nothing brought him greater joy than his family. For Chris, his most treasured role was being a husband to Bianca and a father to Noelle, the light of his life.
All friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate Christopher’s extraordinary life on Tuesday, November 26th at 4pm at Riverside Memorial Chapel.
