After a long and fulfilling life, Barbara W. Markson, 91, passed away on April 14, 2021. Loving wife to the late Dr. Lloyd H. Markson, devoted mother of daughter Laura and son-in-law James, son Mitchell and his partner Jesse, sister of Dr. Gerald Wank and sister-in-law of Gloria. She was the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie Wank. She was a cherished aunt, cousin and friend to many with a huge fan club.
A graduate of NYU and Columbia University, Barbara was Professor and Chairperson of the Dental Hygiene Department at New York City Technical College for over 20 years. She and her husband were long-term residents of Brooklyn and Manhattan. Charming, witty and generous to a fault, she was an avid traveler, theater-goer and lifelong, liberal democrat. Her light will always shine in our memories.
