Barbara Gold

Barbara Ann Gold (nee Port), 92, of New York City passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023, with her family by her side. Bobbie, as she was known to family and friends, was born 11/24/1931 to parents Max and Diana Port in Bronx, NY, and moved to Woodmere, NY when she was 9. She graduated from Woodmere High School and attended Wheaton College and Adelphi University.

She met her beloved husband, Arthur A. Gold, MD, at camp in the Berkshires, and lived happily with him on Long Island, NYC and Lenox MA. She had an incredible joie de vivre, loved music, theater, ballet, museums, books, movies, travel, canoeing, kayaking, volunteering at Big Apple Greeter, serving as docent at Shakespeare & Co. and Tanglewood in the Berkshires, and most of all spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her children Joseph and Claudia Gold, Andrew and Donna Gold, Patti (Gold) and David Chandler, Diana (Gold) and Christopher Murphy, grandchildren Suzanne and Allison, Hannah, Eli, Julia, and Eric, and great granddaughter Arlo.
