Alexander Sokol, age 83, passed away on July 26th, 2024. Born to Abraham and Rose as Alexander Isaac Sokolovsky, he was raised in Manhattan and grew up on the Upper West Side playing baseball and loving his dog Chief.
A street-smart maverick, animal whisperer, foodie, trailblazing traveler, rock-and-roll merchandiser, enthusiast car mechanic, and amateur inventor (rumored to have invented the glow-in-the-dark necklace), his life adventures were too vast to summarize.
He was the coolest dad, a great papa to his grandchildren, a beloved teacher, and a good drinking partner.
He is survived by his son Jacob; his daughter Lauren and her husband Armen; his four grandchildren, Dahlia, Scarlett, Sonia, and Michael; his sister Lydia; and his caregiver Efren.
Family and friends are welcome to attend his service on Tuesday July 30th, at 5pm at Riverside Memorial Chapel.
